Status Matching United To Southwest A-List
Whilst Southwest A-List status can normally be achieved by earning qualifying points or flying qualifying flights, you can use your United status to match directly, skipping out on all the usual requirements.
United MileagePlus Premier Gold, Premier Platinum and Premier 1K members can status match to Southwest Rapid Rewards A-List. Bear in mind, you’re not eligible for the match if you’re currently an A-list member with expiring status. You’re also ineligible if you’ve received A-List status through another promo in the last 12 months.
You’ll initially match for 90 days but you can extend your A-List status match by 12 months if you fly 3 round trip qualifying revenue flights or 6 one-way qualifying revenue flights in that 90 day window. Importantly, a qualifying flight is defined as a Southwest Airlines flight from origin to destination. Intermediate stops or Southwest Airlines-connecting flights don’t count as multiple flights.
If you earn A-List status the normal way following the match, this will supersede the match and your status will expire December 31st that year.
How To Complete The Status Match
First, sign up to Southwest Rapid Rewards if you’re not already a member. Once a member, login and write down your Rapid Rewards Number. You’ll need this number to complete the match.
Next, sign in to United MileagePlus, head to ‘MileagePlus’, then ‘Status Tracker’. Once there, screenshot your United Gold, Platinum or 1K Status, making sure your name is visible.
Once you’ve got your Rapid Rewards Number and proof of United status, head to the Southwest Status Match page, scroll down and click ‘Register Now’.
Your email client should open a draft email to southwest.statusmatch@wnco.com, containing a short to-do list. If that doesn’t work, you can just draft the email yourself. The email you’ll send should look like this:

Officially, the status match usually takes around 12 business days. As soon as you get your A-List status, your 90 day status match challenge window begins. If you meet the challenge requirements, your status will be extended by 12 months. If you don’t, your A-List status will expire after the 90 day window.
